Everyone lately is complaining about the price of gasoline - and with good reason. It is about 40 cents a gallon more than it should be. Why? The news mafia tells us it is because the Arabs have slowed the production of oil so as to jack the price up. But that is not the real reason.
The simple and blunt truth is that we are paying about a dollar a gallon more for gas than we should be paying. We are also paying more than we should for just about everything in this country. And the blame for all of it can be squarely placed upon the incompetence and dishonesty of the U.S. government.
It all started on April 15, 1971 when the U.S. repudiated its obligation to exchange Federal Reserve Notes for gold on the international market. This repudiation of the gold standard created the spiraling inflation that limited Jimmy Carter to one term in the White House. Its greatest immediate effected was on the price of oil.
Did you know that the price of Arab oil has NOT changed since 1974? It has NOT. So why did we have the long gas lines in the 70's and why is the price of oil and gas so high in America today?
Because thanks to the dishonesty of the U.S. government, the Arabs will NOT accept U.S. dollars as payment for their oil.
The following, from a Beirut newspaper, is a 9/4/73 quote from then Libyan Premier Abdel Salam Julloud who said, "Libya will no longer accept payment in U.S. dollars. The dollar has lost its value and we want a currency that is convertible to gold." In December of 1993 the Shah of Iran was quoted as saying, "Why would we hoard non-gold based paper money in banks if inflation makes them worthless?"
WE THE PEOPLE should be asking our government EXACTLY the same question!
On December 12, 1974 the price of Arab oil was $10.73 a barrel, therefore, one once of gold on that day would have purchased 16.75 barrels of oil. On April 24, 1992 Arab oil sold for $20.11 per barrel and gold was $338.70 per troy oz. Thus, one once of gold STILL bought 16.75 barrels of oil. It just took more U.S. dollars.
Any inflation in the price of oil will effect EVERY enterprise that consumes oil and gas. Thus, the transportation and other oil related costs of practically every good and service traded and consumed in the American economy goes up because these higher prices will ALWAYS be passed on to the consumer.
GOLD IS THE ONLY SOLUTION
If, as the constitution MANDATES, our money were coined by CONGRESS in GOLD and SILVER, we would be able to buy a barrel of oil today for exactly the SAME price (in U.S. dollars) that we bought a barrel for in 1974. Also, if our money were LAWFUL money (as called for in the constitution) as opposed to the illegal money that the PRIVATELY OWNED Federal Reserve is passing off on us today, we would be able to buy a house for what we could have bought one for 75 years ago. For that matter, we would still be paying pre-depression prices for everything!
When all of our money was either coined in or backed by gold and silver (1776-1933), there was virtually NO inflation in this country (the only exception being at the time of the Civil War). From 1933 (when FDR stopped backing bills in gold and silver) to 1964 inflation started a steady upward path. From 1965 (when Johnson ordered that the U.S. mint CEASE minting coins in silver) to the present day inflation has been on a RUN-AWAY SKYROCKETING SPIRAL. Now, the 1997 U.S. dollar was worth about 3 cents in comparison to the 1932 GOLD-backed U.S. dollar - which, by the way, was worth EXACTLY the same as the 1832 dollar.
If our money is not returned to LAWFUL silver and gold ASAP, it will, according to a chart on page 47 of economist Gene Edwards book "Economic Doomsday," be absolutely WORTHLESS by the year 2003.
You say it can't happen. History says you are wrong. EVERY nation in history to have a paper currency not backed by gold has suffered ever upward inflation that rendered their paper currency WORTHLESS within 70 years. The non-gold ILLEGALLY printed (in violation of the constitution) U.S. Federal Reserve Note is simply repeating history. We have 3 years folks!

Clinton completed a two-day "school reform" tour in an effort to appease his NEA supporters. He says that home-schooled children should "have to prove that they're learning on a regular basis" -- or be forced to go to school. "I think that states should...get the home schoolers organized."
Michael Farris, president and founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association, responded to Clinton's remarks, saying, "There's no one right way to home school your child. The one-size fits all approach to education is the reason public schools are struggling. The strength of home schooling is our ability to individualize the education of each child."
Memo to the Educator in Chief: According to a 1998 study of 20,760 students in 11,930 families conducted by the University of Maryland's Dr. Lawrence M. Rudner, "In every subject and at every grade level of the ITBS and TAP batteries, home school students scored significantly higher than their public and private school counterparts." Perhaps the government schools need to get "unorganized."

"Ours may become the first civilization destroyed, not by the power of our enemies, but by the ignorance of our teachers and the dangerous nonsense they are teaching our children. In an age of artificial intelligence, they are creating artificial stupidity." --Thomas Sowell
"Regardless of the administration's trade objectives, the reality is that China prepares for war. ... Granting PNTR to China allows the Communist leadership to continue their military modernization efforts at the expense of America's national security. Granting PNTR to China, and removing congressional review of the Communist regime's activities despite their aggressive behavior towards the U.S. and its allies, can only be characterized as irresponsible and stands in direct conflict to efforts to protect our nation."
[Rep. Duncan Hunter as quoted in The Federalist 5-12]
"There is nothing 'normal' about trade with China. Normal countries do not routinely beat, torture and murder their citizens if they disagree with the government. Normal countries do not try to influence an upcoming democratic election in a neighboring land by making military threats if they do not like the outcome, like China did with Taiwan. Normal countries do not routinely violate their trade agreements and steal U.S. nuclear, military and industrial secrets. And normal countries do not violate American campaign finance laws by attempting to buy elections in the United States."

unequivocal in their moral perversity to awaken the American people to the tyrannical spirit that envelopes the Clinton White House." -Alan Keyes
"If you want to go back through the history of this century and before, there is a long list of governors who have been among the finest commanders in chief this nation has had." --Gore in 1992, defending Bill Clinton's qualifications to become commander in chief.

"In addition to Clinton fatigue, multiple personality syndrome, and a penchant for pandering, Gore just keeps saying really bizarre things... He claimed to have invented the Internet. ... Then he claimed his marriage was the model for the novel 'Love Story.' He has claimed to have been a real estate developer, and claimed that he blew the whistle on the Love Canal environmental story. He has claimed he provided key ideas that ended up in Hubert Humphrey's speech to the 1968 Democratic National Convention. And he claimed he is responsible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, a tax welfare scheme enacted by Congress before Gore got there. These are not just stupid or dangerous policy positions, they are lies. It could be that, as Emmett Tyrrell writes, Gore is just a 'very pleasant dimwit.' Or it could be that he learned more from Clinton than we thought." -Thomas L. Jipping, Free Congress Foundation.
"Al Gore has dished out more whoppers than a drive-through at Burger King." --RNC spokesman Mark Pfeifle
Four five-year-old boys were suspended from Wilson elementary school in Sayreville, NJ, after a recess game of "cops and robbers." Seems one of the "cops" pointed his finger at one of the "robbers" and said "bang-bang." A classmate reported the incident to their teacher, who reported it to principal who reported it to the superintendent who suspended the boys for three days. -- "Zero tolerance," you know!

For the edification of Clinton and his feminista brigade, it is estimated that 4,177 women will be raped this year because of excessive -- not to mention unconstitutional -- "gun control" mandates. (Ah, had only Ms. Juanita Broaddrick had a gun....)
